Body fat percentage is the measure of fat in your body. Knowing your body fat percentage helps assess health risks related to weight such as blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease.
It is recommended that pregnant women use QardioBase in “Pregnancy Mode” and people fitted with an implantable medical device use QardioBase in “Weight Only Mode” which disables body composition analysis. If you have implanted electronic medical devices such as pacemakers or defibrillators, do not use QardioBase before activating ‘Weight Only Mode’. Please refer to instructions by the manufacturer of your medical device for more information.
QardioBase measures the percentage of body fat, muscle mass, water composition and bone mass.
Hydration levels in the body may affect body fat and body composition readings. Since the body tends to be dehydrated after a long night’s sleep, body composition tends to show the highest level of % fat and % muscle mass and the lowest % water when you wake up in the morning.
You should measure your body composition at the same time of the day and under consistent conditions in order to obtain the most reliable trend data.
